Frequently Asked Questions

Can I get same day or next day Telehealth appointments?

YES! Our practice is affordable, accessible and has an appointment schedule every day of the week.  So in most cases you will be able to schedule a same day or next day Telehealth visit. Check our website for available appointments and there you can conveniently self-schedule a Telehealth visit.

Will you accept me as a new patient if I don’t have health insurance?

YES! We welcome adults ages 18 to 64 to our practice and our practice does not accept nor bill any insurance plans, so you can just “pay as you go” when you schedule an appointment.

(We do recommend that everyone carry at least a “catastrophic” type health insurance to cover emergencies such as treatment in hospital for accidents or surgery).

Will you refill my prescriptions?

YES! In MOST cases, once you have established with our practice as a patient we are able to refill clinically indicated prescriptions. Prescriptions are sent electronically to the pharmacy of your choice. In some cases an in person visit or lab results may be needed before a prescription can be refilled, or we may suggest a medication that is more appropriate for your health condition, more cost effective or safer for your long term use. Go here to see what we treat.

Do you order labs or x-rays?

YES! As clinically needed we will order labs for you and any necessary imaging tests. The cost of these are your responsibility. You can ask the lab or imaging center to either bill to your health insurance or if you don’t have health insurance that covers these tests you can ask that lab or imaging center for a “cash” or “self-pay” price.

Can I still see my specialist and have you as my primary care?

YES! We are happy to collaborate with any of your current specialty providers for continuity of care. We encourage you to ask your other providers/specialists to share any lab or imaging results, office notes, etc. that would inform your ongoing primary care with our practice.

Can I book an appointment today without becoming a Direct Primary Care Member?

YES! We respect your right to choose how to access your health care. You are always welcome to schedule a telehealth appointment and just pay for the visit.

We do encourage you to consider the value of enrolling as a member and subscribing to Forbes VIP Health, PLLC for Direct Primary Care.

This is a very cost effective way to maintain your health, have regular labs as needed and emphasize early recognition and treatment of health problems before they worsen.

Remember as a member you have access to free Telehealth visits with your provider when needed. Go here for information on the one time enrollment fee and cost of DPC with our practice.

Can you be my primary care provider if I already have a chronic health condition?

YES! NP Forbes has many years of experience in primary care of adult patients with common chronic health conditions. Our goal is to partner with you to optimize your health and wellbeing, help you prevent or slow the progression of any chronic health condition and help you improve your enjoyment of life every day!

As part of quality care for someone with chronic health conditions you will be asked to have regular visits, labs and other tests as clinically indicated to monitor your condition and adjust treatment as needed.

You may also be asked to see a specialist if clinically indicated for collaborative care.

For your safety, If needed we will refer you to specialist management or for ER evaluation if your condition becomes beyond the scope of what can safely be treated within a primary care practice.

Are you board certified?

Do you prescribe medication to help me quit smoking?

YES! We encourage you in your efforts toward smoking cessation. Smoking is a strong addiction and if a particular method did not work for you in the past, remember you didn’t fail, the method failed you. We are happy to consult with you to help you find a method that will help you reach your tobacco free goal.

Please go here to check the specific list of towns in our mobile service area, and note the mobile visit fees during regular hours or after hours/weekends.
